Ultra Light Plane Crash in French River Yesterday evening at 8:00pm, Noelville O.P.P. officers were dispatched to The Fish Tail Campground on Wolseley Bay Road, West Nipissing in response to reports of a plane crash into or near the Wolseley River.

Yesterday evening at 8:00pm, Noelville O.P.P. officers were dispatched to The Fish Tail Campground on Wolseley Bay Road, West Nipissing in response to reports of a plane crash into or near the Wolseley River.

O.P.P. officers initiated a search and subsequently located the downed plane and its pilot at a cottage on the Wolseley Bay Road area of the French River. The pilot was not injured.

Investigation revealed that the pilot had attempted the water takeoff from the Wolseley River in his 2001 Ultra Light Plane when shortly after takeoff, the plane veered into a row of trees.

The OPP have advised Transport Canada of the accident. The investigation is continuing.
