A driver from the Sault is facing impaired charges after police responded to a vehicle in a Goulais ditch over the weekend.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a call of sedan in a ditch in the 200 block of Haviland Shores Drive in Goulais.
After officers arrived and spoke to the driver, police suspected she had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to Sault OPP detachment for further testing.
Nicole Walker, 55, is charged with:
- operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
- operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The car was towed and impounded for seven days and the driver was issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Walker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
