ASSAULT ON FEMALE LANDS MAN IN JAIL
Goulais River, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP have one man in police holding cells after a woman was assaulted last night with two different weapons.
Last night at about 9:30 p.m. police were called to a home off Anderson Road in Goulais River. The investigation revealed that a verbal argument between and man and woman escalated into violence.
It is alleged that the man held the woman down on a bed by the throat for a short period of time. As the woman attempted to flee the house she was assaulted in the neck with a fork and hit on the wrist with a baseball bat.
The woman was slightly injured but did not need medical attention. As a result of this investigation OPP took a forty (40) year old Goulais River man into custody. He will be charged with two counts of Assault With a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Unlawful Confinement, and Breach of a Recognizance.
The man will make an appearance at W.A.S.H (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court this morning.
