FIVE ARRESTED IN ROBBERY ON ST. JOE ISLAND
Five people were arrested last night following a robbery on St. Joseph Island. The owner of Ambeault's Confectionary on Richard Street in Richards Landing lives in an apartment above the store.

He was awakened last night by the thieves and went to investigate. He was struck over the head with a crowbar as the culprits fled the scene. He managed to call police who stopped the car as they were on their way to the call.

Officers from the Thessalon Detachment of the O.P.P. found three persons in the car and an additional two in the trunk. All five were arrested. Police will identify the suspects when they are formally charged later today.

The store owner was taken to hospital in the Sault where he was treated and released.
