OPP release new photos of man wanted in connection with homicide near Matheson

Police say Lucas MacDonald, 43, may have a gun and should not be approached

EGAN TOWNSHIP - New photos have been released of a person police are trying to locate in connection with a homicide investigation near Matheson.

OPP released three new photos of 43-year-old Lucas MacDonald today on social media. He may have a gun and police are warning the public not to approach him. 

 

 

Police first appealed for information about MacDonald's whereabouts on Friday in relation to a suspicious death investigation in Egan Township, which is southwest of Matheson.

A body found in a wooded area has now been identified as Marcel Thoma, a missing person who was last heard from on May 17. Police believe it was a "firearm-related homicide."

MacDonald is described as 5-foot-8, dark collar-length hair with some grey, and a thin short beard. He was last seen wearing a ball cap with a bandana underneath it and wrap-around sunglasses. 

There are also two outstanding warrants out for his arrest for breach of recognizance in unrelated matters.
