The Ontario Provincial Police are moving their record check process online.

As of June 13, all requests can be processed through the website.

"On average, the OPP completes 140,000 police record checks every year," said Deputy Commissioner Chris Harkins in a press release on the subject. "Moving police record checks online allows the OPP to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of the communities we serve."

Criminal record checks, criminal record and judicial matters checks, vulnerable sector checks and OPP non-parent custody checks will be available through the website.

The online application process will allow members of the public to apply quickly, easily and securely.

Fees for the checks will remain unchanged and charges will be processed electronically.
