OPP deploys spike belt to stop erratic Highway 11 driver

Police say the driver intentionally contacted another vehicle, causing a collision on Highway 11 north of North Bay shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday and are now making a public appeal for dash cam footage of the incidents

TEMISKAMING SHORES, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police officers from the Temiskaming Detachment made several attempts to stop a driver police say intentionally contacted another vehicle causing a collision on Highway 11 north of North Bay shortly after 1 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 30.

Police then deployed a spike belt to stop the suspect's vehicle and the driver was arrested. There were no injuries reported however the driver was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

The incidents occurred on Highway 11 and Highway 65 in the Temiskaming Shores area.

Temiskaming OPP is seeking assistance from the public in locating video/dash camera footage concerning collisions and erratic driving involving a white Toyota Rav 4 SUV.
