OPP Investigate Break and Enters A Break and Enter into the Captain Tilley Recreation Center in Fenwick Township, occurred sometime over night on Friday the 25th of September.

A Break and Enter into the Captain Tilley Recreation Center in Fenwick Township, occurred sometime over night on Friday the 25th of September. The culprits forced their way into the building and proceeded to vandalise the property. A fire extinguisher was set off. Food items were strewn around and florescent lights were smashed. The suspects also smashed the window out of tractor stored on the property.

Two Sheds were broken into on the 9000 block of Havilland Drive Haviland Township. The sheds located on recreational properties were entered sometime between the 6th and 26th of September. Taken from one property were a 1980 20 HP Evenrude and a 1980 9.9 Horse outboard Motors.

The OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in solving these crimes. Anyone with information on who is responsible for committing these break and enters or where the stolen property may be found can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Crime stoppers will pay cash rewards for your information if it leads to solving a crime or the recovery of stolen property.

Charges Laid in a Domestic Assault

A 23 year old Batchawana First Nations resident faces two counts of Assault as a result of police investigation into an altercation on Sunday Evening on the Batchawana First Nation. A 23 year old female and a 21 year old male received minor injuries as a result of being assaulted by the suspect. The man was also arrested on a outstanding Sault Ste Marie Police Service warrant for Breach of Probation. He will appear in Bail court on Monday 28th of September.
