CAN YOU HELP IDENTIFY THESE SUSPECTS

Generator and Stereo Stolen

(Hodgson Twp., ON)  - On Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 6:30 pm Sault Ste. Marie OPP received a call regarding the theft of an orange and black generator and a stereo system from a camp on Whitman Dam road.

Four males in their mid-20’s, early- 30’s, driving a newer model Ford black pickup truck were observed in the area.  The driver had blond hair.

SAULT STE. MARIE OPP INVESTIGATE SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

Driver Airlifted to Sudbury General Hospital

(Herrick Township, ON) Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a red Yamaha motorcycle at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 13, 2013 on Superior Street on the Batchewana First Nation. 

A 24 year old male was operating a motorbike northbound on Superior Street and was entering a right hand curve at a high rate of speed.

The driver proceeded to drive off the road and into a ditch.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to Sudbury General Hospital for further treatment.

The investigation is continuing.

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT COLLISION SCENE

Driver Drove Up To OPP Cruiser

(Herrick Twp, ON) –  At approximately 4:00 pm while OPP officers were at the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Friday, September 13, 2013 on Superior Street on the Batchewana First Nation, they observed a driver not wearing a helmet southbound on a three-wheeler ATV weaving from side to side as it travelled down Superior St. towards the collision scene. 

The three-wheeler stopped as it approached two fully marked OPP cruisers that were bordering the collision scene.

As a result of further police investigation thirty-one year old Spencer Frederick McLaren of Highway 563, Batchewana Bay was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceeding 80 milligrams blood alcohol content while operating a motor vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for Provincial court on October 14, 2013.
