OUTBOARD MOTOR STOLEN ON SECOND AVENUE, WAWA (WAWA, ON) – On September 28, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a theft of an outboard motor from a residence on Second Avenue in Wawa.

(WAWA, ON) – On September 28, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a theft of an outboard motor from a residence on Second Avenue in Wawa.  The outboard is described as a 1999 Mercury 8hp and is valued at $1000.  The theft is believed to have occurred between September 26 and the 28, 2012.   Anyone with any information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

MALE ARRESTED FOR BREACHING BAIL CONDITIONS

(HORNEPAYNE, ON) – On September 28, 2012 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Hornepayne Detachment were advised that a local male was breaching his bail conditions by not abiding by a curfew of 7:00 pm.  The following day the male, 45-year-old Robert GOULET was located and arrested by the OPP.  The accused stands charged with Failing to Comply with Recognizance of Bail and he is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie. 

MALE ARRESTED DOMESTIC ASSAULT

(WHITE RIVER, ON) – On Saturday September 29, 2012 White River officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a domestic disturbance that had taken place on Winnipeg St, White River.  The 43-year-old male was arrested for assault and will appear in Sault Ste Marie bail court.  OPP do not release the names of accused in domestic matters to protect the identity of the victims.

BREAK AND ENTER ON LANSDOWN ST, CHAPLEAU - Charges Laid

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On September 2, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Chapleau Detachment responded to a break and enter to an apartment on Lansdown Street.  Several windows were broken to gain entry into the home.  Items taken include 3 firearms, alcohol and jewellery.  The firearms include a 410 shotgun, a 20 gauge shotgun and a 308 calibre rifle. 

On September 29, 2012 OPP South Porcupine arrested 22 year old Jesse WHITE of Brunswick House First Nation.  The accused was charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

  1. Break and Enter
  2. Mischief Under $5,000
  3. Breach of Probation
  4. Trafficking in Stolen Goods

The items reported stolen were recovered in this matter.  The accused has been held for a bail hearing in Timmins on today’s date.

BREAK AND ENTER TO COTTAGE

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On September 30, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Chapleau Detachment were advised of a break and enter to a cottage on Chapleau River.  The break in occurred sometime between August 20 and September 30, 2012.  The locks on the doors had been smashed to gain entry into building.  The items stolen are estimated to be $2500 and include a KIPOR 1000w generator, a Poulin chainsaw and a 1997 Mariner 8hp outboard motor.  Anyone with any information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

MALE ARRESTED FOR BREACH OF PROBATION

(Aweres Twp., ON) On September 30, 2012, OPP responded to a domestic disturbance in Aweres Township.

Investigation revealed an intoxicated twenty-one year old male got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend and damaged property.

The male was arrested and charged with Breach of a Recognizance and Mischief under five thousand dollars.

The accused is being held in custody pending bail court today at Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Court.

FOUR BREAK AND ENTERS REPORTED

(Fenwick Twp., ON) - Four break and enter’s were reported to seasonal residences on Mission Road in Goulais River over the weekend.

All four were entered by either kicking in a door or breaking a window.

In one of the break-ins, culprits ransacked the cottage and discharged a fire extinguisher throughout the main room.

In another break-in, culprits entered the garage area and slashed two chambers of a Zodiac boat.

Alcohol and a small amount of tools were stolen.

There have been reported break-in’s to numerous seasonal residences in the past several weeks in the Goulais River area.

Cottages have been ransacked and personal property damaged.

Area residents are asked to call the Sault Ste. Marie OPP if they observe any suspicious activity in area at 1-888-310-1122.
