HIDDEN ATV STOLEN (Echo Bay, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to an isolated area of Hwy 638 in Echo Bay on Friday after the home owner discovered his ATV had been stolen.

(Echo Bay, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to an isolated area of Hwy 638 in Echo Bay on Friday after the home owner discovered his ATV had been stolen.

The home itself is not visible from the roadway and is accessed by a long winding driveway. The ATV was parked in an area that was concealed from the view of anyone casually entering the area. The investigation is revealing that the thieves pushed the ATV down the driveway to Hwy 638 where they loaded the bike onto a truck and made good their escape.

Stolen is a 2006 Polaris 500 Sportsman ATV.

“NATURE BOY” MAKES AN ESCAPE

(Goulais River, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to the roadside park at Chippewa Falls on Hwy 17 in Goulais River over the weekend.

On Sunday 30 September 2007 at about 1:30 p.m. police were advised of a naked man lying on the rocks near the end of a trail at the roadside park. Police attended the area and walked the trails. Several people in the area were interviewed and no one else saw the nudist. Police did not receive any further reports or sightings of the man.

TRAILER FIRE

(Goulais Mission, Ont.) Police and fire officials were called to a home on Goulais Mission Road over the weekend for a trailer fire.

On Saturday 29 September 2007 at about 9:00 p.m. the Goulais River Fire and Rescue Department as well as the OPP were called to the 2800 area of Goulais Mission Road for the fire. The trailer was completely destroyed by the fire. Preliminary investigation is revealing that two young teens were in the trailer earlier and had candles lit. The investigation has been handed over the Batchewana First Nation Police for follow up.

ATV STOLEN!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating the theft of an ATV. The victim reports that the red 1985 Honda RRX (250cc) bearing Ontario marker RN185 was last seen parked in the driveway at a residence on Beckett Boulevard on September 29th, 2007 at 11:00 p.m. Upon checking the residence on September 30, 2007 at 1:00 a.m. the complainant noticed the ATV missing.

FAIL TO PROVIDE NETS CHARGES FOR LOCAL MALE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On September 29th, 2007 at approximately 8:55 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP were at the scene of a motor vehicle collision when a vehicle approached the scene.

Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle and the driver was later charged.

Charged with Failure to Provide a Breath Sample is Paul Wade BENOY (41) of Elliot Lake. BENOY is scheduled to appear in court on December 4th, 2007.

MVC NETS DRIVER CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP – Elliot Lake has charged a local woman stemming from a minor vehicle collision.

On September 30th, 2007 at approximately 12:54 a.m. police attended the area of Highway 108 and Hillside Drive South regarding a minor vehicle collision. Following the investigation, police charged a driver.

Charged with Impaired Driving and Failure to Provide Breath Sample is Marie Christine Ginette ASH (51) of Elliot Lake. ASH is scheduled to appear in court on November 6, 2007.

KEEP YOUR VEHICLES LOCKED AT ALL TIMES!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating the theft of a satellite radio. Investigation revealed that sometime between the 27th and 28th of September 2007 unknown person(s) entered an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of 149 Mississauga Ave and stole a Sirius satellite radio. Approximate value of the radio is $100.00.
