TRY NOT BEING ALL THAT NOTICABLE TO POLICE WHEN SNEAKING AROUND

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

A Sault Ste Marie man will face hefty fines after being pulled over on Friday afternoon.

On Friday 17 November 2006 at about 4:00 p.m. an officer headed north out of the city noticed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction with a noisy muffler. The car was pulled over and the driver had no identification on him. It was eventually discovered that the driver’s licence was suspended and his licence plate was expired.

After reassuring officers that he did in fact have insurance on his vehicle he was invited back to the OPP station and offered an opportunity to call his insurance company to verify this fact. As suspected, he had no insurance on the vehicle.

Twenty three year Christopher HEALD of McNabb Street in Sault Ste Marie now faces charges of Driving While Under Suspension, Invalid Licence Plates and Driving With No Insurance. If convicted of the insurance charge he could face a minimum fine of five thousand dollars. He will appear in court on Dec 20, 2006.

DRINKING AND DRIVING

Laird Twp, Ont.,

A Laird Township man faces one drinking and driving charge after being pulled over early on Saturday morning.

At about 3:00 a.m. an officer with the Sault OPP detachment was following a vehicle on Hwy 17 in Laird Twp. The vehicle was pulled over because of some driving irregularities.
The driver showed signs that he had been drinking and a roadside test was conducted on the driver. As a result of that test he was taken back to the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment where an Intoxalyzer test was conducted.

As a result of this investigation thirty year old Donald MANCHUR of Rydal Mill Rd in Laird Twp has been charged with Driving While Over the Legal Limit. He will appear in court on December 18 2006 to answer his charge.

AND IT OFF TO BAIL COURT THIS MORNING…

Heyden, Ont.,

A Heyden woman will appear in court this morning after smashing out a window at a neighbours home.

On Sunday morning at about 11: 30 a.m. police were called to a home in Fisher Trailer Park after a window in a trailer home was smashed out. It appears that after a lengthy all night party marathon that insults and accusations by two women ended in the window being smashed out.

Officers attended the neighbourhood and took 24 year old Cassie WOODCOX into custody. It was discovered that along with breaking the window that Ms. Woodcox is also under a court order not to harass or annoy the complainant.

Ms. Woodcox will be appearing in bail court this morning charged with Mischief Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation.
