DRIVER CHARGED FOR FAILING TO STOP FOR SCHOOL BUS

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The East Algoma OPP has charged a local woman after receiving a complaint of a vehicle going through school bus lights.

On November 7th, 2008 police received a complaint of a vehicle going through a school bus flashing lights on Spruce Avenue in Elliot Lake. Police located and charged the 43-year-old driver under the Highway Traffic Act for Failing to Stop for a School Bus.

S/Sgt Knowler of the East Algoma OPP states that the safety of all children is very important to us. “Drivers be aware of other vehicles on the roadway and be extra careful in school zones.”

MISCHIEF COSTLY FOR EVERYONE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating several mischief reports throughout the city of Elliot Lake.

During the evening of November 8, 2008 and the early hours of November 9th, 2008 unknown persons spray painted property in the Ste Camillus and Taylor Boulevard area.

Words such as EMO, no preps, EMO Forever and YM EMXX were spray painted in black.

Also during the same evening unknown persons cracked a window of a residence on Pearson Drive by allegedly throwing an egg at the window and on Mississauga Avenue a house was egged and solar lights, ornaments were stolen from the residence. Solar lights were also stolen from a residence on Ste-Camillus.
