MISCHIEF TO COTTAGE (Wharncliff, Ontario) On March 21, 2008 the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were contacted regarding a mischief to a garage. Two windows in a door were broken between January – March 2008. Entry was not gained to the garage.

(Wharncliff, Ontario) On March 21, 2008 the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were contacted regarding a mischief to a garage. Two windows in a door were broken between January – March 2008.

Entry was not gained to the garage. The estimate of the damage is approximately $50.00.

BREAK AND ENTER TO COTTAGE

(Thessalon, Ontario) On March 19, 2008 the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were contacted regarding a break and enter to a cottage on Ansonia Road, Huron Shores Township.

Suspects entered the cottage between February 21st – March 19, 2008. Nothing was taken in the break and enter.

Damage to the door is estimated at $100.

FORGED PRESCRIPTIONS NETS SEVERAL CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP has arrested and charged two local residents after receiving complaints of forged prescriptions.

On March 24th, police attended three (3) separate pharmacies in the City of Elliot Lake. Through investigation police learned that the prescriptions were forged and subsequently the following were arrested and charged.

Lynn GLADU (32) and William McDONALD (34) both of Elliot Lake.

GLADU is charged with the following:
Possession for the Purpose (X2)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (X5)
Possession – Other Drugs (X2)
Utter Forged Document (X5)

McDONALD is charged with the following:
Utter Forged Document (X2)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (X2)
Possession – Other Drugs (X2)
Possession for the Purpose (X1)

GLADU and McDONALD are scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on May 6th, 2008.

THEFT OF PURSE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Officers of the East Algoma OPP are currently investigating the theft of a purse. On March 29th, 2008 police received a call to attend Toppers Pizza on Hillside Drive South regarding the theft of a purse. On scene police learned that the purse was allegedly taken between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. while the employee was working.

The purse contained property that had great value to the victim. The black leather like material purse had two zippers on top with a chain down one side and a metal “thing” on the other side. The purse contained money, 2 sets of keys, a small grey purse, and a small black fold wallet with documents. A Canadian passport was also in the purse.

STOLEN VEHICLE

(Vankoughnet Township, Ont.) On Friday, March 28th, 2008 at approximately 1:15 pm a 1998 green and silver Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck was stolen from a driveway on Witry Road in Vankoughnet Township.

The owner happened to be traveling south on Highway 552 in another vehicle when he passed his stolen truck traveling north on Highway 556.

ATV STOLEN

(Vankoughnet Township, Ont.) On Friday, March 28th, 2008 at approximately 2:00 pm the occupants of a residence in the 200 block of Bellevue Valley Road in Vankoughnet Township returned home to find their ATV had been taken from the back of their property.

Stolen was a 2005 red Suzuki King Quad ATV.

RESIDENCE BROKEN INTO

(Vankoughnet Township, Ont.) Sometime between Wednesday March 25th and Thursday March 27th thieves entered the garage of a residence in the 100 block of Bellevue Valley Road in Vankoughnet Township.

Stolen were a Briggs and Stratton Elite Series gas powered pressure washer and a Dewalt Saws All.
