VACANT BUILDINGS ENTERED

(SUPERIOR EAST OPP) – Recently Superior East OPP have received reports that person(s) unknown have been entering various vacant and condemned buildings throughout our patrol area. A number of these buildings are in disrepair due to mould; sewage backup etc and anyone entering could be exposed to health risks or personal injury. Although damage caused by intruders has been severe to a number of the buildings including broken windows, holes punched in walls and some items broken, it is a concern that anyone entering these vacant or condemned structures may become injured. The public is requested to avoid entering these structures due to these concerns and also that it is a criminal code offence to break and enter into any building to commit an indictable offence such as mischief or theft.
