THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE (CHAPLEAU) – On June 26, 2009 at approximately 9:30 am a report was received that sometime overnight a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, red in colour bearing Ontario licence BASB107 was stolen from a Chapleau residence.

(CHAPLEAU) – On June 26, 2009 at approximately 9:30 am a report was received that sometime overnight a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, red in colour bearing Ontario licence BASB107 was stolen from a Chapleau residence. Further investigation reveals that the vehicle may be enroute to the Sault Ste Marie area and may contain two occupants. The OPP is asking that anyone who may have observed this vehicle or has any information call The OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

FUEL LEAK HIGHWAY 17

(WAWA) – On June 27, 2009 at 10:00 am on Highway 17 approximately 50 kilometres south of Wawa an unknown vehicle pulling a boat trailer was travelling south. A piece of angle iron flew out of the trailer landing on the Highway. A Toyota pickup truck travelling directly behind the trailer struck the piece of angle iron. A Tractor Trailer unit travelling behind the Toyota also struck the object which caused the left fuel tank on the tractor to rupture resulting in approximately 170 litres of fuel to leak out onto the Highway. The leak was subsequently cleaned up with assistance from the Wawa Fire Department and Ministry of Transportation with no damage to the environment. The unknown vehicle and boat trailer has not been located.

BICYCLE STOLEN

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) - A 21 speed black Raleigh Mountain bike was stolen from a residence on Frontenac Street overnight on Friday.

LAWN ORNAMENTS STOLEN

(Aweres Twp., ON) – An assortment of lawn ornaments including 4 solar lights were taken from the front lawn of a residence on Olsen Drive in Aweres Township Saturday evening.
