FRIDAY NIGHT ASSAULT RESULTS IN WEEKEND JAIL STAY

(Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) A Batchewana First Nation man has spent the weekend in jail after assaulting a woman in a home.

On Friday night at about 11:00 p.m. Batchewana First Nation Police were called to a home after receiving a report of an assault on a woman. Officers arrived and found the woman in the house in emotional distress. It was determined that she was assaulted by the male in the home.

A twenty three(23) year old Batchewana First Nation man was taken into custody for assaulting the woman. The victim was taken to Sault Area Hospital were she was treated and released. The man faces one count of Assault. He will appear in bail court this morning.

WEEKEND BREAK AND ENTERS

(Heyden, Ont.) A home on Heyden Lake and two homes in the Red Rock area were victims of break ins over the weekend.

Sometime between midnight on Friday and noon on Saturday thieves broke into a home on Heyden Lake. So far the only thing the owner can find missing is alcohol.

Sometime over the past week thieves also entered two seasonal home on Lakeshore Road in the Red Rock area. A small quantity of electronics were stolen

SOMEONE FROM THE “SENSELESS” FAMILY ACTING UP AGAIN

(Goulais River, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Goulais Mission Road over the weekend after someone threw a rock at a moving vehicle.

On Saturday at about 12:30 p.m. a car was traveling on Goulais Mission Road in Goulais River.

The driver’s window was suddenly smashed out by someone who threw a rock at the car. As usual, the spineless culprit disappeared from the area. Although somewhat shaken and covered in glass, the driver was not injured.
