SPEEDING DRIVER LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES (Fenwick Twp., ON) – On July 21, 2013 at approximately 12:15 pm an OPP officer on radar patrol on Highway 17 north near Anglican Church Road observed a car traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.

(Fenwick Twp., ON) On July 21, 2013 at approximately 12:15 pm an OPP officer on radar patrol on Highway 17 north near Anglican Church Road observed a car traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle was clocked on radar at 132 km/h in a posted 90 km/h speed zone.

The vehicle was pulled over and subsequent investigation resulted in several charges.

Twenty-one year old Cody Michael Lavallee of Pine St. Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with Operating a motor vehicle with excess of 80 milligrams blood alcohol content and Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

 The accused was also charged for speeding, failing to surrender the permit for a motor vehicle and for driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for Provincial court on August 19, 2013. 

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED

(Macdonald-Meredith-Aberdeen Additional twp., ON) – On Saturday, July 20th at approximately 1:00 am OPP were conducting RIDE spot checks at the corner of MacCarrell Lake Road and Watson’s Side Road. 

A pickup truck pulled up behind the Police cruiser.  Upon approaching the vehicle Police observed that the driver had glassy eyes, was slurring his words and an odour of an alcoholic beverage emanated from the vehicle.

Sixty year old George Hutchinson of Pentagon Boulevard, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a motor vehicle with excess of 80 milligrams blood alcohol content.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for court on August 19, 2013 in Sault Ste. Marie.
