DRIVER CHARGED AFTER SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Friday, the 25th of January 2008 at approximately 5:44 a.m. police were dispatched to attend Highway 108 regarding a motor vehicle collision.
DRIVER CHARGED AFTER SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Friday, the 25th of January 2008 at approximately 5:44 a.m. police were dispatched to attend Highway 108 regarding a motor vehicle collision. On scene police learned that it was a single motor vehicle collision. The driver attended the local hospital, was treated and released with minor injuries.

Charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving and G2 License Holder – Over zero B.A.C. is a 20-year-old female from Elliot Lake.

The charged person is scheduled to appear in court February 19th, 2008.

DRUNKEN SNOW MACHINE DRIVER

Sault Ste Marie, Ont., An officer on early morning patrol of Hwy 17 found an impaired snow machine driver over the weekend.

On Saturday 26 January 2008 at about 4:00 a.m. the officer was on patrol near the intersection of Hwy 17 and Hwy 17B. The officer noticed a snow machine stuck partially on the highway and the snow bank.

The officer saw the driver trying to get the machine going again and approached the driver. The driver show signs that he had been drinking and he was taken into custody. Further testing revealed that the driver was more than twice over the legal limit to be driving anything.

Thirty one(31) year old Randall BARRY of Noonday Drive in Garden River now faces six charges. He is charged under the Criminal Code with Impaired Driving and Driving While Over The Legal Limit of .08. He is also charged under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act with Driving With No Helmet, Failing to Surrender Proof of Insurance, Failing To Surrender Registration and Failing to Produce a Drivers Licence.

Mr. Barry will appear in court February 28, 2008

JUST DOESN’T UNDERSTAND THE PHRASE—DON’T DRIVE

Sault Ste Marie, Ont., A Sault Ste Marie woman will be asked to have someone else drive her to court in March after being caught while driving under suspension

On Saturday 26 January 2008 at about 8:00 p.m. an officer was on Hwy 17 near the east city limits. He stopped a vehicle pulling a trailer that had no lights. He soon learned that the driver of the vehicle had her licence suspended in late December 2007.

Forty three year old Barbara BAKER of Albert Street East in Sault Ste Marie will now go to court in March to try and offer a reason why she doesn’t understand the phrase “licence suspended”
