Theft and Mischief (Blind River, Ont.) - In October of 2004 East Algoma OPP had received calls involving the theft of some Golf Carts from the Huron Pines Golf and Country Club.

(Blind River, Ont.) - In October of 2004 East Algoma OPP had received calls involving the theft of some Golf Carts from the Huron Pines Golf and Country Club.

The investigation led to discover that several of the carts had been driven on the course damaging to the course and several carts costing thousands of dollars.

As a result of the investigation, Police have arrested two young persons, whose names cannot be released under the protection from the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and charged

19-year-old James HOEBERG with:

- theft Over $5000 X 2
- mischief Over $5000 X 2
- possession of stolen property

These persons are to appear in court in Blind River in April of this year.

Assault

Sault Ste Marie OPP have a man in custody after a investigating an assault in an area community yesterday.

Officers attended a home and found a woman suffering from visible injuries to her face.

Investigation has indicated that the woman was trying to protect herself from being assaulted when she was struck in the face with an unknown object.

Officers arrested a man in his early seventies at the scene.
The woman declined to accept medical assistance.

The man is in custody and will appear in bail court this morning.
He is charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
Investigation into this matter is continuing.
