Sexual Assault Complaint The Sault Ste Marie Detachment Officers investigated a complaint of sexual assault that occurred on the 9th of February. As a result of this investigation a 35 year old Haviland Twp.

The Sault Ste Marie Detachment Officers investigated a complaint of sexual assault that occurred on the 9th of February. As a result of this investigation a 35 year old Haviland Twp. Man will be appearing in Bail court Monday, charged with Forcible Confinement, Sexual Assault, Utter Threats, Sexual Exploitation, Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking. To protect the identity of the Victim the name of the accused will not be released.

Rescued Lost Snowmobiler

With the assistance of Sault Search and Rescue, local residents and the OPP ERT team Brody Wilson age 29 from Sault Ste Marie was found at 11:30 on Sunday Morning after having spending 10 hours in -18 C temperatures. Rescuer’s were hampered by zero viability due to the high winds. Mr. Wison is recovering in hospital with severe but not life threatening injuries received due to exposure to the frigid temperatures and winds. The police hope this incident and a rash of Snowmobile fatalities over the weekend serve as a wake up call to use extreme caution when going out onto lakes and during bad weather conditions.

Missing Snowmobiler Found

Havilland Twp – The Ontario Provincial Police were called this morning to investigating and conduct a search for an overdue snowmobiler in the Horseshoe Bay area. Sault Ste Marie Search & Rescue also attended and assisted in the search.

At approx 12:55 a.m., three men went snowmobiling on Horseshoe Bay off Havilland Shores Road. As a result of the high winds and blowing snow, two men returned to the residence but the third man failed to return. The other two went searching for him with no success and the police were called. The overdue man, BRODIE WILSON (29) of Sault Ste Marie, was located by searchers and was tended to at the scene by paramedics. His condition at this time is unknown.

Once more information is received, an update will be put out.
