(Elliot Lake, Ontario) August 22, 2009 at approximately 4:12 p.m. while on general patrol, an officer of the East Algoma OPP attempted to stop a vehicle on Mississauga Avenue. The officer activated the emergency lights but the vehicle allegedly accelerated. Later the vehicle was located abandoned in a vacant lot on Stevens Road. The driver was located a short time later walking on Denison Road.

Charged with the following is a 17-year-old male youth of Elliot Lake.

Flight from Police

The youth remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for August 24, 2009.

The name of the youth will not be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT NETS SEVERAL CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The East Algoma OPP has charged a local woman with several charges after receiving a traffic complaint.

Charged with the following is a 23-year-old woman from Elliot Lake.

Fail to have Insurance
Drive Motor Vehicle – no validated permit
Drive Motor Vehicle - no licence

MISCHIEF TO CARS

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) In the early morning of August 21, 2009 unknown person(s) smashed a rear window of a station wagon parked in a driveway at 43 Pearson Drive in Elliot Lake.

And at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the same date a vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a church on Mississauga, when unknown person(s) smashed the back window of a 2001 Chrysler.
