Numerous Iron Bridge Houses Vandalized

(Iron Bridge, ON.) – On April 5th, 2009 East Algoma OPP officers were called to numerous reports of vandalism overnight. Officers report that sometime after midnight unknown persons were out driving around in the Iron Bridge area causing random damage to people’s property. Roadside ornaments, mailboxes, newspapers boxes and 911 house numbers were either damaged or pulled out of the ground. Witnesses report seeing a small dark coloured vehicle with male and female youths in the area at the time.

Many youths may think this is a fun past time but police want to remind everyone that not only is this a criminal offence but it could have other serious consequences. Removing a roadside 911 house number may prevent emergency services such as police, fire or ambulance from locating a house in the case of an emergency when ever second counts.

Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding this or any other crime to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
