MALE FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES AFTER STRUGGLE WITH POLICE (Blind River, ON.) – On April 15, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. police received a call of an intoxicated male who was trying to flag down motorists on Highway 17 in the Spragge area.
MALE FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES AFTER STRUGGLE WITH POLICE

(Blind River, ON.) – On April 15, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. police received a call of an intoxicated male who was trying to flag down motorists on Highway 17 in the Spragge area. Officers from the Blind River detachment patrolled the area and located the male walking eastbound in on the paved portion of the road. The officer activated the emergency lights to warn traffic and exited the cruiser. The male turned and walked towards the officer shaking his fists and shouting. Other officers arrived on the scene and the intoxicated male was instructed to leave the roadway but refused. The male was then arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. As he was being arrested the male began to fight with officers before being placed in the cruiser. Charged is 40 year old Peter POULIN of Elliot Lake. POULIN is charged with:

1) Resisting a Peace Officer Section 129(a) Criminal Code
2) Being Intoxicated in a Public Place Section 31(4)
Liquor Licence Act
3) Solicit a Ride Section 177(a) Highway Traffic Act
4) Pedestrian fail to walk on left side of highway Section
179 highway Traffic Act

POULIN is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on July 8, 2010.

YOUTH ARRESTED FOR UTTERING THREATS

(Aweres Twp., ON.) – OPP were called to a residence in Aweres Township last Friday afternoon to investigate a threat allegation.

A 12 year old male youth was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats.

The youth will appear in court on 8th June 2010.

STOLEN TIRES

(Havilland Twp., ON) – Four truck tires and rims were reported stolen from a plow truck parked at a residence in the 900 block of Havilland Shores Drive.

The theft took place within the past two weeks.

DRIVER CHARGED

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) – Officer’s on patrol at 4:00 am on Saturday morning stopped a 2004 Ford Taurus travelling eastbound on Old Garden River Road on the Batchewana First Nation.

The driver exhibited signs of alcohol consumption and was given the roadside screening device.

Arrested and charged with driving with over 80 mgs. of alcohol is 44 year old Wayne PARADIS of Copernicus Drive in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

The accused was also wanted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for outstanding warrants for Breach of Probation and Assault.

The accused was kept in custody for bail court today.

VEHICLE DAMAGED

(Aweres Twp., ON) – OPP received a report of damage to a vehicle on Saturday evening.

A red 1990 Jetta was parked in a driveway in the 1st block of Old Mill Road in Aweres Township.

Sometime between 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm person(s) unknown threw rocks at the driver’s side window and the back window causing the windows to break.

DO YOU KNOW WHO OWNS THESE CLOTHES?

(Kars Twp., ON) - Saturday morning at 10:00 am OPP received a report of a break and enter to a camp in the 1500 block of Mission Road in Kars Township.

Police attended the scene with the owner. Suspect(s) unknown entered through a balcony patio door that had been kicked in.

Nothing was taken from the residence however the owner discovered two bags of clothing not belonging to him inside the camp. Various items of clothing were located in the bags (see attached photo).

This incident occurred sometime between 18 April 2010 at 23 April 2010.
