BLIND RIVER – The Blind River Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges as a result of a break and enter that occurred at a residence on Indiana Avenue in Blind River.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at approximately 7:40 a.m., Blind River OPP were contacted regarding a break and enter and assault that had occurred. [It is alleged that], while in the residence the suspect assaulted a resident of the home and pushed over a fish tank on the second floor of the residence resulting in damage to the ceiling of the first floor. The victim sustained minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Joshua Lucas Clarke, 21 years of age, from Blind River, ON, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm, contrary to section 267(b) of the Criminal Code;
- Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code;
- Mischief over $5000, contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code; and
- Break and Enter – commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on July 7, 2016.
