Harassment call leads to Friday night arrest in Wawa

A Wawa resident is facing multiple charges after a harassment report Friday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Aug. 11, officers with the Superior East detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a location on Superior Avenue in Wawa.

An investigation led to Preston Plante, 26, being arrested and charged with:

  • criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate
  • fail to comply with probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear back in court on Sept. 11, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Plante is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
