Concealed weapon charges for local male

ELLIOT LAKE, ON – On October 5, 2011 at approximately 1 p.m. officers of the East Algoma conducted a traffic stop on Axmith Avenue in Elliot Lake.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and a prohibited weapon was located.

A 9mm Zoraki, a box of cartridges and a magazine were located by officers.

Charged with the following is Robert Carl Coppens (39) of Elliot Lake.

- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

- Carrying Concealed Weapon

- Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a firearm

- Breach of Recognizance

Coppens is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on December 6, 2011.
