Goulais River, Ont.,

A Goulais River resident arrived home yesterday afternoon to find their home illegally entered and the interior spray painted.

At about 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon the homeowner arrived home to find that someone had entered the home and spray-painted the wall of two rooms in the house. Several other smaller items in the home were also removed from the house. The home is located on Birch Point Circle in Goulais River.


HEYDEN YOUTH NOT INJURED AFTER FLEEING POLICE

Heyden, Ont.,

A 14 year old Heyden youth was not injured after he tried to avoid being stopped by police on his three wheeled ATV,

At about 11:00 p.m. last night a member of the Traffic and Marine Unit was on patrol and noticed the ATV. The officer attempted to stop the ATV but the driver fled into the bush.

At about 11:30 p.m. the officer saw the same ATV in Rupert Acres Trailer Park traveling with no lights on. As the youth saw the police approaching he tried to flee again. This time he lost control of his ATV and fell off. He was picked up by police (in both sense’s of the phrase) and taken home to his parent.
He will face numerous charges under both the Highway Traffic Act and the Off Road Vehicle Act.

The 14 year old was not injured.

BATCHAWANA HOME EGGED

Batchawana, Ont.,

So far today, as the sun is still coming up, Sault Ste Marie OPP have only one report of vandalism to property over night.

At about 1:00 a.m. this morning a homeowner in the Village of Batchawana reported that her house was egged by several youth in a blue GMC Sierra pick up truck. Officers patrolled the village but could find no signs of the truck or anyone walking around the village.

12 HOUR DRIVERS LICENCE SUSPENSION

Goulais River, Ont.,

One Goulais River man has had his licence suspended for 12 hours after he was found to be drinking and driving last night.

At about 1:30 a.m. officers checked a vehicle on Pineshores Drive and administered a roadside Breathalyser test to the driver. The 29-year-old male registered a “warn” on the roadside tester. He was issued the 12-hour suspension and he can pick his licence up anytime after 1:30 this afternoon.
