LOCAL MAN FATALLY INJURED Struck By Falling Tree (MEREDITH TWP., ON) – On Thursday October 20, 2011 at approximately 10:45 am a man was helping his neighbour with two trees that had fallen over on Cameron Road in Meredith Township.

(MEREDITH TWP., ON) – On Thursday October 20, 2011 at approximately 10:45 am a man was helping his neighbour with two trees that had fallen over on Cameron Road in Meredith Township.

As the deceased and his neighbour were cutting the trees with chainsaws to remove them from the roadway a third tree fell and struck both males.

OPP were called to the scene.

58 year old Douglas Scott BRODIE of Cameron Road, Meredith Township suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 71 year old male was transported to Sault Area Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

No foul play is suspected.

MALE CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – October 17, 2011 the East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake received a complaint regarding a possible sexual assault.

Through investigation police arrested and charged a local male.

Charged with the following is Brian Joachim TRACEY (54) of Elliot Lake.

Unlawfully in Dwelling House

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court December 6, 2011.

VERBAL CONFRONTATION NETS SEVERAL CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMALE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – A local female has been charged with several charges after engaging into a verbal confrontation with a neighbour.

On October 17, 2001 at approximately 12:55 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP received a call to attend Feltz Road in Elliot Lake regarding a possible threat.

On scene, police learned that the suspect had allegedly made threats toward the victim and deliberately drove into the rear of the victim’s vehicle.

Charged with the following is Adrienne KIERSNOWSKI (41) of Elliot Lake.

Utter Treat to Cause Death or Bodily Ham
Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle
Mischief over $5,000
Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on December 6th, 2011.
