BREAK AND ENTER WHILE VICTIMS ARE HOME! (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 19th, 2007 at approximately 2:10 a.m. the East Algoma OPP received a call to attend a residence on Valley Crescent regarding a possible break and enter.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 19th, 2007 at approximately 2:10 a.m. the East Algoma OPP received a call to attend a residence on Valley Crescent regarding a possible break and enter.

On scene police learned that the occupants of the residence had retired for the evening at approximately 1:45 a.m. A short time later, one of the occupants attended the kitchen area and noted leaves on the floor. A further check of the residence discovered an open window in the kitchen. Taken from the residence was a purse, which contained a wallet with approximately $180.00.

Investigation continuing.

Police would like to remind everyone to ensure all windows, doors and patio doors are locked prior to retiring for the evening.

LOCAL JUNIOR HOCKEY CLUB VICTIM OF MISCHIEF!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a mischief to the local junior hockey team bus.

Police were called to the parking of the Centennial Arena at approximately 12:55 a.m. on October 19th, 2007. The complainant advised police that while driving by the arena, he noticed lights were on in the bus. Police were contacted and a search of the bus was conducted for possible suspects. No one was located at the scene but one window was noted to be damaged and a windshield wiper had been ripped off.

Investigation continuing.

PAST BANK EMPLOYEE CHARGED

(Blind River, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP Crime Unit has completed their investigation regarding possible fraud and theft from local banking institution in Blind River.

The complaint originated from the bank regarding a past employee. The theft and fraud investigation revealed over $180,000.00 missing.

Charged with Theft Over $5,000 and Fraud Over $5,000 is Kevin DESBOIS (30) of Elliot Lake.

DESBOIS is scheduled to appear in court in Blind River December 6th, 2007.
