TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE (WHITE RIVER, ON) – On Tuesday October 27, 2012 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East White River Detachment were conducting routine traffic patrols on Highway 631.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(WHITE RIVER, ON) – On Tuesday October 27, 2012 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East White River Detachment were conducting routine traffic patrols on Highway 631.  A 2001 Ford F-150 was observed with a broken tail light and a traffic stop was initiated.  Officers detected an odour of alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver and lone occupant of the pickup.

A roadside test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.  As a result, 45 year old Peter BARON of Fergus Ontario was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Hornepayne Detachment for further tests.

The accused was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with Driver Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood/Alcohol Content and under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario, Drive Motor Vehicle without licence.  The accused was later released and is scheduled to attend Wawa Criminal Court at a future date.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On Thursday November 1, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the Chapleau Detachment were called out at 3:30 am for a domestic disturbance on Pine St.  As a result of the OPP investigation, a 30 year old male was placed under arrest for Assault.  He was taken to Timmins for Bail Court and scheduled to appear on November 2, 2012. 

OPP do not release the names of accused persons in domestic matter to protect the identity of the victims.
