Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

On Thursday, May 28th, 2009, members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police along with members of the OPP Drug Enforcement Section Sudbury and the UCCM Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Highway 6, in Little Current, Ontario

As a result of conducting a search of the vehicle, police seized a quantity of cannabis marijuana, and prescription medication along with other drug paraphernalia.

Marjorie Shirley BEAUDRY, 45 years of age is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Karen Anne-Marie CONSTANTIN, 36 years of age is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Both were released and are set to appear in Wikwemikong on August 4th, 2009, to answer to the charges.

This investigation is part of an on-going initiative by members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service, OPP Drug Enforcement Section Sudbury and the UCCM Police Service to address the increase in crime and drug related activity.
