DIRT BIKES AND ATV'S TRESSPASSING
Heyden, Ont.,

This past week Sault Ste Marie OPP have responded to complaints of dirt bikes and all terrain vehicles trespassing on private property on a daily basis.

Property owners from several different locations in the Heyden area are experience continuous problems with these vehicles cutting across and riding in posted no trespassing areas.

Many of the riders appear to very young teens who are ignoring the no trespassing signs and symbols. In some of the complaints received this week, these off road vehicles are seen traveling a excessive speeds on some of the area roadways.

These vehicles require an Off-Road Vehicle licence plate and proof of insurance. Anyone caught riding on private property without the permission of the owner could be liable for prosecution under the Off-Road Vehicle Act and the Trespass to Property Act.

A little consideration and common sense will save these riders unnecessary, and perhaps unwanted, contact with the law.
