NEW OPP "STEALTH CRUISER" ON AGGRESSIVE DRIVING PATROL

(Sudbury, Ontario) The latest addition to the OPP North East Region fleet was unveiled today in Sudbury. The unmarked patrol unit, dubbed the stealth cruiser, is specifically detailed to blend in with the appearance of an average vehicle but is equipped for enforcement purposes. The stealth cruiser, acquired for the sole purpose of detection and apprehension of aggressive drivers, will join regularly marked OPP cruisers on highway patrol.

OPERATION MAY RUN 2002 is a North East Region Traffic & Marine initiative that will concentrate enforcement resources on both road and water. Traffic and Marine Units, across the Region, have been assigned to specific "hot spots" on Hwy 69 and Hwy 11. Officers will be working schedules that provide increased visibility and strict enforcement while focusing their attention on through-traffic in the small towns such as
