TWO ARRESTED AND INVESTIGATION CONTINUING

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On May 11, 2011 at approximately 6:24 p.m. the East Algoma OPP received a call to attend an apartment at 23 Mississauga Avenue regarding a complaint of a possible disturbance involving weapons.

On scene police learned that the residents of the apartment had been victims of a home invasion. One resident was taken to the hospital and treated with non life threatening injuries. Through investigation the police attended a residence on Dieppe Avenue.

While at the residence on Dieppe Avenue officers located 8.5 lbs of marijuana a street value of approximately $82,000. Also located were bundles of money totalling $13,000.

Police have charged Diane Perdue (51) of Elliot Lake and Zachary Perdue (19) of Elliot Lake with the following.

Possession for the Purpose
Laundering Proceeds of Crime

Diane Perdue is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on July 5, 2011. Zachary Perdue remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie.

Investigation is continuing on the home invasion. No further information will be provided at this time due to the investigation.
