MALE CHARGED WITH MISCHIEF TO LEGION (CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On June 2, 2010 at 1:18 am Superior East OPP in Chapleau received a complaint from staff at the Royal Canadian Legion on Young Street that a male subject had broken a window.

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On June 2, 2010 at 1:18 am Superior East OPP in Chapleau received a complaint from staff at the Royal Canadian Legion on Young Street that a male subject had broken a window. It was learned that the bartender had refused service to a subject and as the patron left the legion he was observed smashing a window in the front entrance door. As a result of this incident Nathan SARAZIN age 23 of Chapleau stands charged with the Criminal Code offence of “Michief under $5000.00” and he will appear at Chapleau criminal court on August 18, 2010.

FISHING AND ALCOHOL DON’T MIX

(SUPERIOR EAST OPP) - On the afternoon of June 2, 2010 members of Superior East OPP along with the OPP Marine Unit conducted conducted patrols of Dog Lake and Wabitongushi Lake near Missanabie, Ontario. A number of water craft were checked and as a result 13 charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario including “Operate Boat with Open Liquor” and “Possess Liquor other that Residence or Licensed Premises”. Boaters are reminded that consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages on a boat is an offence and police will be out enforcing all regulations through-out the boating season. Please follow safe boating practices.

DRIVER CHARGED IN WEDNESDAY’S COLLISION

(Laird Twp., ON) – Fifty four year old Jayne Pateman of Richards Landing has been charged following Wednesday’s motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 at Bar River Road in Laird Township. Pateman has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway.
