(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating the theft of a chainsaw valued at $850.00.

The complainant/owner contacted police on July 11th, 2007 reporting that sometime between July 3rd, 2007 and July 11th, 2007 unknown person(s) removed a chainsaw from the back of a pick-up truck while it was parked on Stanrock Road in Elliot Lake.

The missing chainsaw is a HUSQUAVARNA, model 362SP and orange in color.

THE LAW CLEARLY STATES – Don’t Drink and Drive!!!!!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Thursday, July 12th, 2007 at approximately 11:11 p.m. the East Algoma OPP received a complaint of two westbound motor vehicles traveling at extremely high rates of speed. Officers set up radar waiting for the oncoming vehicles. At 11:20 p.m. a vehicle was observed to be traveling at a high rate of speed, police pursued the vehicle and the vehicle was stopped on Highway 108.

Charged with Over 80 is Bruno RIZZO (39) of Elliot Lake. RIZZO was also charged for speeding – 49KM/h over posted limit.

RIZZO is scheduled to appear in court on August 7th, 2007.

MALE CHARGED WITH DRINKING AND DRIVING OFFENCES

(Blind River, Ont.) While on general patrol, July 13th, 2007 at approximately 12:05 a.m., an officer of the East Algoma OPP noted a vehicle parked on the side of the road on Highway 17, west of Highway 108. Upon checking the wellbeing of the driver, police noted the driver was asleep. Further investigation has led to the following charges.

Charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 is Joel PITRE (36) of Elliot Lake.

PITRE is scheduled to appear in court on September 4th, 2007.
