DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

ONE MALE IN CUSTODY

(Macdonald Twp., ON) – OPP were called to a residence in Macdonald Township, Echo Bay, Ontario yesterday afternoon at 4:45 pm.

A female was allegedly punched in the face by her ex-common law spouse.

Prior to Police arrival, the man had left the scene in a vehicle.

The man was located a short time later.

The 31 year old male was arrested and charged with the following; Assault (2 counts), Mischief under $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property, and Impaired Driving – Over 80 milligrams, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused will appear in Sault Ste. Marie bail court this morning at 9:00 am.

The female victim was transported to Sault Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

GOOD NEWS FOR AWERES RECREATION COMMITTEE AND THE COMMUNITY

NOT ONE, BUT TWO SNOWBLOWERS RECOVERED BY POLICE

(Aweres Twp., ON) – Two snow blowers stolen from the skating rink behind Aweres Public School over the past year have been recovered and returned to the Aweres Recreation Committee.

One snow blower had been stolen from the shed adjacent to the rink in June, 2009.

A second snowblower was stolen December, 2009.

Arrested and charged with one count of Possession of Stolen Property for the December snow blower theft is 31 year old Jeffery BUDGE of Ferguson Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

BUDGE was released on a Promise to Appear in Sault Ste. Marie court on 29 March, 2010.
