Investigation Continues

(Fenwick Twp., ON) – Sault Ste. Marie OPP along with Goulais River Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a structural fire to a residence in the 100 block of Bye’s Side Road in Fenwick Township at 11:33 am Thursday February 26th. The Deceased person is believed to be the only resident of Bye’s Side Road residence.

Members of the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment, OPP Forensic Identification Unit, Office of the Fire Marshall and office of the Coroner are continuing their investigation. A forensic identification will be required to positively identify the victim.

Domestic Assault Results In Charges

(Aweres Twp. ON) Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment members investigated a reported assault that occurred on Hiltz Road in Aweres Township on afternoon of February 26th. A 30 year old male has been taken into custody and will appear in bail court Friday morning charged with Assault, Mischief Under $5000.00 and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance. A sad footnote to this occurrence was the presence of a young child during the incident.


SNOW MACHINE STOLEN

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On February 22, 2010 Superior East OPP in Chapleau received a report of a snow machine stolen from the back yard of a residence on Pine Street. The machine had been removed from the yard sometime on the weekend while the owner was away. Investigation has revealed a number of fresh footprints in the area. The machine is described as a 1986 Yamaha Bravo Transporter, 250cc, black in colour bearing licence number 539741. The windshield is cracked on both sides and the machine has “TRANSPORTER” on the sides.
