WEAPON BRANDISHED AT POLICE
At 2:30 this morning, officers from the Sault O.P.P. were dispatched to a disturbance at a private residence on the Rankin Reserve. When officers arrived on the scene they were met at the door by a male brandishing a knife toward the officers. The suspect then fled out the rear door, running on foot toward Trunk Road.

With assistance from the City Police Service's K-9 unit and the AP Police Service, the suspect was taken into custody without incident and the weapon was recovered.

A 15-year-old young offender will appear in bail court this afternoon charged with assault with a weapon, assaulting police, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of probation.
