Traffic stop results in tobacco charge
WAWA – On Thursday April 9, 2015 at approximately 9:02 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment had occasion to stop a motor vehicle for speeding on Highway 17 in the Bailloquet Township District of Algoma.
As a result of police investigation the lone male driver of the black Chevrolet automobile was arrested and taken into police custody.
The 56-year-old male driver of Toronto Ontario was charged with the following;
Possession of unmarked cigarettes contrary to section 29(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act of Ontario.
The male driver was issued a Provincial offence notice and released from custody.
