Family dispute leads to charges near Wawa: OPP

A Wawa resident faces charges stemming from an incident that occurred recently, Superior East OPP said in a news release issued today.

Police say they responded to a call around 10:07 p.m. on Feb. 24 of a family dispute on Michipicoten First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, Krista Stone, 23, of Wawa was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Uttering Threats - Damage Property, contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) of the CC, and
  • Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC.    

 The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
