Ontario 511 was reporting a closure late this afternoon on Highway 17 in the Goulais River area, however as of about 5:30 it appeared some traffic was getting through.
The traffic information service said the highway was closed in both directions in the area of Post Office Road, which meets Highway 17 just north of Goulais River.
The alert went out at 4:37 p.m.
But as of around 5:10 p.m., Ontario511 said only the west (northbound) lane and shoulder were closed.
