Blind River man charged with impaired driving in Wawa

A disturbance call in Wawa has resulted in impaired driving charges for a Blind River man.

OPP say on Monday night around 11:30 p.m., they responded to a disturbance outside a Mission Rd. motel in Wawa.

Upon arrival, police learned a driver of a pickup truck had left the area after consuming alcohol.

As a result, Michel Dikken, 29, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 10, 2020, in Wawa.
