A Blind River resident faces an impaired driving-related charge after the OPP responded to a traffic complaint near Wawa on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect vehicle was located and a traffic stop initiated on Highway 101, approximately 30 km east of Wawa.

Responding officers “determined the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. During the interaction, the driver refused to provide a breath sample to police,” says a news release issued by OPP.

As a result of this investigation, 34-year-old Kyle White of Blind River stands charged with failure or refusal to comply with a breath demand. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 3.

“The accused was also issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.”

None of the allegations have been tested in court and White is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
