A Hilton Beach woman is being accused of breaching her conditions within 10 minutes of being released.

Ontario Provincial Police were originally called to an apartment building on South Street at around 10:30 p.m. last Thursday, July 13.

“An intoxicated tenant slapped another tenant multiple times on the back and the mouth area,” police alleged in a news release.

“The next day the accused knocked on the victim's apartment door and threatened to physically harm the victim again.”

Susan Rae, 59, of Hilton Beach was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The accused was released by way of an undertaking on Saturday, July 15 at 6:35 p.m.

“Ten minutes after being released by officers with conditions not to communicate directly or indirectly with the victim, the accused observed the victim on their apartment balcony and began yelling and swearing at the victim,” OPP said.

Officers arrested Rae again and took her to the Blind River Detachment where she was held overnight until they say she was sober.

Rae is now facing the additional charges of failure to comply with undertaking and being intoxicated in the common area of a residence.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on September 7.
