Two dead, one injured after stabbing in northern Toronto: police

TORONTO — Police say two people have died and a third has been injured in a stabbing in northern Toronto.

Investigators say they were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Ellerslie Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Friday on reports of an altercation between a man and a woman.

They say officers found three people injured, two of whom then died at the scene.

Police say a man has been taken into custody, but there's no word on charges at this time.

They say no other suspect is being sought, and there's no danger to the public.

The area is expected to remain closed to motorists and pedestrians for a few hours as the investigation continues.
