Shots fired at LCBO alcohol display in London, Ont., in failed store robbery: police

LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., allege a man fired a rifle in an attempt to break into a glass display case holding bottles of alcohol at an LCBO store.

Police say the man entered the liquor store, removed a rifle from under his jacket and fired.

They say he was unsuccessful in breaking the glass and fled to a waiting vehicle.

None of the people inside the store was hurt.

Police say they arrested two men and found two loaded firearms during a search, one of which was reported stolen in March.

The men from London are facing charges including armed robbery and using a firearm to commit an indictable offence.
