A 19-year-old man is facing a second-degree murder charge after a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in a Toronto condo over the weekend.

Toronto police say emergency crews responded just before 6 p.m. Sunday to a condo in the area of York Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West.

Det. Sgt. Michael Taylor says officers found a 16-year-old boy inside with gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead on scene.

He says a 19-year-old man turned himself in and he was charged with second-degree murder.

Taylor says the victim and the accused were friends and police are not looking for any other suspects.

He says the police marine unit is looking for a gun in the water along Toronto's waterfront.
