LONDON, Ont. — Officials say a courthouse in London, Ont., was closed for a day this week after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ministry of the Attorney General says the courthouse was shuttered Tuesday to allow for thorough cleaning in an effort to reduce any potential risk of exposure to the virus.
Ministry spokesman Brian Gray says the employee has been directed to stay home in self-isolation while they recover.
Operations at the province's courthouses have wound down dramatically over the last few days in response to the novel coronavirus.
Nearly all trials have been put on hold for months and only emergency cases are being heard.
Witnesses, lawyers and jurors have been told not to come to court.
